Caring for our Veterans / VIDEO

Allens Hill Cemetery in Richmond NY, a property of the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester, was severely damaged in a microburst storm in June 2022. Generous gifts of approximately $25,000 have been used in the cleanup efforts of removing over 40 fallen trees and restoring many monuments and headstones.  Phase I of this project is dedicated to the Veterans of this great country. In honor of our Veterans and their family members, a professional stone worker has repaired their stones as much as possible. The Diocese will continue this ministry as funding becomes available.

As we pay our respects today on Veterans Day, we acknowledge all veterans for their sacrifice and valor and continue caring for the veterans at rest in Allens Hill Cemetery.

Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
