Labor Day Parade

LABOR DAY PARADE!

Since 2010 about 40-50 of us have walked in the Labor Day Parade
to show solidarity with NYS farmworkers and advocate for their rights!
Please join us on
Monday, September 5!

We will meet on Sibley Place, on the corner of East Avenue,
between 10:30-11:00 a.m.
Streets close at 9:30 a.m. for those being dropped off.
Please help pass the word!  Attached are flyers in English and Spanish!
We invite you to wear a red or white top
and/or a red and white bandana!  If possible, please bring a sign!
Please contact me if you have any questions via email, cell or text at 585-880-2847.
Without the hard labor of farmworkers that feed us every day, including during the pandemic at risk to themselves and their families, we would not have food on our tables.
Marching in the parade is one way to express our appreciation to them!
We hope you can come.

UPDATES!
FARMWORKERS MAKE MORE HISTORY!
History was made when farmworkers joined a union for the very first time in the history of New York State!  Twelve NYS farmworkers working at Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, NY,  joined a union in September 2020.  That Union is Local 338.  Read about it here.  Click on link and scroll down.

STARBUCKS!
Starbucks has been given the honor of leading this year's parade as we were in 2019 with passage of the Farmworker Fair Labor Practices Act.  We're very excited about that and for them!
Farmworkers and Starbucks are certainly living up to this year's parade theme:
ORGANIZE AND RISE!
