As we celebrate freedom on this Juneteenth, our country’s 250th anniversary, and this Fourth of July, please consider sharing the gifts of freedom with our newest neighbors. Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services has been welcoming refugees for over 20 years and working alongside them long after the six months of government support ends. RRRS guides folks through the legal process, orients children to school and provides tutoring, helps navigate a new culture and country, and supports families in buying and maintaining their first home. They currently work with 500 people in about 100 families. You can invite a staff member from RRRS to speak at your parish and consider partnering with a family to support their life in your community. Please contact Executive Director Mike Coniff to set up a visit. And visit their website to donate or volunteer. Celebrate your freedom by sharing it with others!
