Our Baptismal Covenant asks us: “Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?” In a time when many in the LGBTQ+ community feel targeted or unheard, our “Yes” matters more than ever. The Episcopal Diocese of Rochester is heading to Pride events across our region to be a physical reminder of God’s radical hospitality.

The LGBTQ+ Advocacy Team helps to empower LGBTQ+ people and allies across the diocese to live into our baptismal promises to strive for justice and peace and to respect the dignity of every human being. We have an abiding belief that our churches need to be safe havens where LGBTQ+ people can serve and be active openly, safely, and proudly on the premise that all deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated. We equip our congregations, clergy, leaders, and neighbors for this witness by educating, community organizing, and advocating as we confront discrimination, advocate for equity in and beyond the Church, and elevate queer voices and leaders.
