Bishop Kara Visits Schuyler County Habitat For Humanity
The Episcopal Diocese of Rochester and the Episcopal Churches of Schuyler County have been supporters of Habitat for Humanity in Schuyler County since 2006. Retired priest and former Rector of the Schuyler County churches, Michael Hartney, serves as Habitat’s Treasurer. Over the past twenty years, the Episcopal Churches of Schuyler County have been supportive financially and have sponsored Diocesan District (now Convocation) grants. Habitat has built six houses for families during that time. The houses are located in the Villages of Montour Falls and Watkins Glen, and the Towns of Hector and Dix. During her Visitation to Schuyler County’s churches, Bishop Kara stopped by to see the progress on the current build in the Village of Montour Falls Saturday afternoon.
