With the New York Knicks playing the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA finals, Bishop Kara, the Rt. Rev. Matthew F. Heyd, Bishop of New York, and the Rt. Rev. Jeremiah Williamson, Bishop of Albany, made a friendly wager with The Rt. Rev. David G. Read, D.D., Bishop of West Texas, and the Rt. Rev. Angela Maria Cortiñas, Bishop Suffragan of West Texas. If the Knicks win, the Texas Bishops will send some barbecue to New York and a $500 donation to Rural and Migrant Ministries. If the Spurs win, the NY Bishops will send a New York cheesecake, some apples, and a grape pie to Texas, along with a $500 donation to help with the Texas flooding. Watch the video.
