The Episcopal Diocese of Rochester is offering the Strengthening the Body of Christ workshop to help church members and clergy become more effective leaders of their congregations. We welcome the Rev. Jay Wittmeyer, Executive Director of the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center, to lead this event. This workshop uses the insights of family systems theory to reflect on the social dynamics and connections of the congregation. The workshop seeks to work through such concepts as toxicity and sabotage and address how leaders can respond to such challenges in mature and responsible ways that maintain unity through peace.

Strengthening the Body of Christ uses theory to help church members and clergy become more effective leaders of their congregations. This workshop is a call for leaders to grow themselves up into spiritual maturity and guide their congregations into the full measure of the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Who will benefit:

  • Clergy who are interested in learning how to manage change and transition post-pandemic.
  • Pastors looking to gain knowledge in creating a healthier relationship with their congregation.
  • Church lay leaders who want to learn the best practices for their church based on present research findings.
  • Anyone interested in learning how to manage self and become a positive representative for the church
