You are invited: Virtual Cohort
From The Rev Richard Witt, Rural & Migrant Ministry:
Rural & Migrant Ministry's (RMM) motto is Hope, Justice and Empowerment. We invite you to join us in a six month virtual cohort, that begins October 17th as we learn from one another, build a network of support and develop strategies for tearing down walls that divide our communities.
Here is a flier that tells you more, and here is a link to register. We envision a diverse array of faith leaders, both ordained and lay, joining together from across New York for this Cohort as we explore how social transformation can take place in rural New York. (after all rural is in our name!)
RMM was created by five faith bodies in 1981. Since then we have grown in our covenant with thirteen faith bodies across New York. Here is our mission statement: Rural & Migrant Ministry works for the creation of a just rural New York State through:
- 1) Nurturing leadership,
- 2) Standing with the disenfranchised, especially farmworkers and rural workers,
- 3) Changing unjust systems and structures For forty years we have partnered with people to build community and work for change.
Along the way we have learned so much. We invite you to come help us learn more, and perhaps we can also help you build up your wisdom! In turn, as we live in a Country that is in the midst of turmoil, we will find ways to be beacons of love.
