Update on COVID-19 Protocols
Dear Friends,
Cases of Covid-19 have risen substantially from September through December 2021. We are in a better position in 2021 due to the vaccines. I think we can continue in person services if we follow protocols that will keep up safe. We hope that our churches will follow all of these protocols.
• If any member of a family is ill, experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, or who has been potentially exposed to Covid-19, the family should not attend church.
• Everyone should wear a mask, covering their mouth and nose, in the church and parish house regardless of vaccination status.
• Unless you have good ventilation in church, please keep the services short.
• Do not do indoor coffee hours, buffets, dinners, or receptions.
• Do not use the common cup.
• Do not pass the plate, except if an offering basket with handles is used.
• Socially distance except for families and pods.
• At the peace, please understand many people are not comfortable to shake hands. It is better to bow, wave, or give an elbow bump.
• Congregational singing is allowed while wearing masks.
• Sign-in is required for contact tracing.
• Choral singing only if all are vaccinated and masked.
The bishop encourages clergy to be tested weekly.
Faithfully,
The Rev. Ronald B. Young
Chair of the Thriving in the COVID World Task Force
