UPDATE: College for Congregational Development

Dear friends,

I’m very pleased to say that I believe we will be able to hold our College for Congregational Development week-long intensive this July 18th-24th at Notre Dame Retreat House in Canandaigua. I’m looking forward to working and learning with you this summer!

After listening carefully to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and New York State, and conferring with the retreat house and the bishops in Rochester and Central New York, here is our current plan the College week-long:

In order to best protect everyone’s health, we will require all participants and trainers to be fully vaccinated prior to attending.
We will follow the masking guidance that makes sense as we get closer to the week. At this point, that might mean that masks would be required when we’re moving around the building but not when we’re in plenary and small group sessions. We’ll develop and communicate final guidelines closer to the week, taking into account the latest conditions.
We are limiting attendance to thirty participants and six trainers. This will mean that we can spread out in the sleeping rooms. Everyone will have their own room, most with an individual bathroom. A few folks will have a toilet and sink in their room, and a dedicated shower stall in a common shower room down the hall. It will also mean that we can practice physical distancing in the meeting rooms, though probably not a full six feet in all instances.

I am happy to talk about these guidelines further and welcome your questions or concerns. We will continue to listen carefully to guidance and will make and communicate adjustments as appropriate.

With folks who have formally registered and others who have informally indicated they are planning on attending, we are hovering around twenty-five or so participants as of today. I encourage you to make your final decision and confirm your registration by submitting your tuition soon. I am aiming to close registration by June 1st. If you change your mind about attending, either due to shifts in the pandemic or for other reasons, your tuition is fully refundable.  Tuition is $900, made payable to the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester with CCD on the memo line, and sent to me at The Rev. Paul Fro lick, 8198 Honeysuckle Drive, Liverpool, NY  13090.

Please do reach out with any questions or concerns. Be well and stay safe.

Peace,
Paul
